Like most of us, I began as a good ‘ole rink rat, every weekend in junior high was spent at the skating rink. Ten years later I moved to Austin and saw my first Roller Derby bout. Love at first sight!! I knew I would one day play derby. Not knowing the first thing about the game, I broke out my old Hard Candy skates, primarily made of duct tape, and who-knows-how found myself in the training process for the Texas Rollergirls! My skating skills and sports background got me in the door and the amazing girls of TXRG drafted me and taught me the rest! I jammed for the Honky Tonk Hearbreakers, of the Texas Rollergirls, for four badass years. After a few pretty bad injuries I retired from skating in 2015 and coached the Heartbreakers for one season. Recently, after two years off skates, I was promoted by a former teammate to get back into playing. My love for derby has never ceased to exist and I find myself at my happiest when on my skates. Beyond excited to get back in my gear and rock this year out with TFR!!!
