Sugar Free Punch
Growing up, the skating rink was cheap babysitting. My four brothers and I would spend our Summers at the skating rink and the public swimming pool. When I became “fresh meat” with San Antonio Roller Derby, I hadn’t skated in over 20 years. I showed up for the first practice, I was a spaz, falling all over the floor and laughing at myself, because I was still having fun. I only spent a short time with SARD, they disbanded in 2013. I then went onto play with the Alamo City Rollergirls for three seasons. Two of those seasons I played on their A team, Las Tejanas. It is there I learned just how much I love the sport of roller derby. I am now a member of the New Braunfels Wurst Girls learning, growing and teaching new skaters about the sport. To say I’m excited to be playing with Team Free Radicals is an understatement. It is an honor to share the track with these remarkable women.
